Privacy Policy

Clypello is a macOS menu bar app that manages your clipboard history and lets you save reusable text snippets. It reads clipboard content so it can show your copy history, and saves snippets you explicitly create.

Clypello reads your clipboard (text, URLs, images and files) to build a local history. This history never leaves your Mac and is never synced. It is held on your device and cleared when you delete entries or clear the history.

Snippets you save are stored locally on your Mac in two places:

• App database — snippet text and metadata, stored in your app's sandboxed container.
• Keychain — content marked as "secure" is encrypted in your system Keychain and never written to disk in plain text.

Clypello uses Apple's CloudKit to keep your snippets, placeholders and settings up to date across the Macs signed in to your Apple ID. This data is stored in your private iCloud database — encrypted by Apple in transit and at rest, and accessible only to you.

Clypello operates no servers of its own and cannot read your synced data. Your clipboard history is intentionally excluded from sync. You can disable iCloud sync at any time in Settings.

When you access a snippet marked as secure, Clypello uses macOS LocalAuthentication to verify your identity via Touch ID. This happens entirely on your device — Clypello receives only a yes/no result and never handles biometric data directly.

Settings such as your hotkey configuration, history size and language are stored on your device and may sync through your private iCloud account alongside your snippets. No preferences are sent to us.

If you enable "Launch at login", Clypello registers itself with macOS ServiceManagement. This is a local system call — no information is sent anywhere.

• We do not collect analytics or usage data.
• We do not use third-party SDKs, trackers or advertising frameworks.
• We run no servers of our own — the only network activity is iCloud sync, handled entirely by Apple.
• We never upload or sync your clipboard history.
• We do not share your data with any third party.

Clypello does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. As we collect no data ourselves, the app is safe for all ages.

If we update this privacy policy, the new version will be published at this URL and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the change.
